Rugeley's Historic Antlers

Sometime after 1865 Rugeley was gifted a lamp standard in the shape of a pair of Antlers, by the railway company, Rugeley is on the edge of Cannock Chase where there are many deer. These ‘Antlers’ were mounted on a railway bridge where they hung for about 127 years before they were removed around 1975. I started a campaign last year to try and get the 'Antlers' first of all back into Rugeley as they were in storage in another town then to get them or a replica re hung on the bridge.
